I know you’ve heard the following verses in Ephesians many times, but when we’re in the midst of Evil, even now, it doesn’t hurt to hear them again. Hear what the Apostle Paul is telling us before we continue …
Ephesians 6:10-18 … my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; …
Now here’s a Word, from the Lord circa 500 BCE, from Daniel 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. After the crucifixion of Christ Jesus … His death, burial, resurrection … then His appearance near before the Father (the Ancient of Days) our Lord Jesus, in 30 CE, makes ‘His fulfilling of this prophecy’ clear to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 … Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (age: Strong’s G165). Amen. Now in the very beginning of the earthly Ministry of Jesus, that old devil, Satan himself, offered Jesus another deal. He offered Jesus power over all of the kingdoms of this world, but in Luke 4:4-8 … Jesus answered him (the devil), saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Jesus wasn’t interested in Satan’s offer. Christ Jesus had much more in mind than what the devil had to offer. Because He loved us, He had all of us, along with all of our futures in mind. So, think seriously about what Jesus was considering at the time! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. So, Jesus turned down Satan’s offer, and for 3 1/2 years, went through all of the earthly, worldly persecution, coming as a Lamb led to slaughter, obedient to the cross, death, burial and resurrection in order to SAVE and DELIVER us from evil. So when the devil tried to stop God’s plan, Jesus saw through Satan’s scheme. Therefore, Christ Jesus immediately refused Satan’s offer, and went on to establish an eternal heavenly Kingdom in the earth, and all the while making it possible, for ‘whosoever will’, to receive a blessed abundant life here on earth, filled with joy, as well as everlasting eternal Life!
Now let’s move on to another thought. Jesus knew back then, and still, even now, knows exactly what kind of a world we live in today. He didn’t teach this following Scripture for nothing! Matthew 10:16-17 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men... However, look at what Jesus said in Matthew 10:26-28 Fear them not (Who’s He talking about here?) therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body (Ah, here it is … killers), but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him (God Almighty) which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Many years ago, I knew one of God’s servants, who taught the definition of “Courage” as being “the Opposite of Conformity.” You might want to think about that one a bit.
Christ Jesus, being abundantly filled with more courage than any man throughout the ages, even unto the cross, said it this way in Luke 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Then He goes on in the next verse, telling us, whom we shall fear. Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him (God Almighty), which after he (God Almighty) hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him (God Almighty).
Psalms 115:13-18 He (God Almighty) will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth. THE HEAVEN, EVEN THE HEAVENS, ARE THE LORD'S: but THE EARTH HATH HE GIVEN TO THE CHILDREN OF MEN. The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence. BUT WE WILL BLESS THE LORD FROM THIS TIME FORTH AND FOR EVERMORE. Praise the LORD.
Here it is again. Jesus, in the beginning, came as a Lamb. Let’s read what John the Baptist had to say in these following verses. John 1:29-34 … John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. … I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but HE (God Almighty) that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. Ok, I pray I’ve made it clear that Christ Jesus FIRST CAME AS A LAMB!
BUT NOW after the completion of the work Christ Jesus did on Calvary … after His death, burial, resurrection, ascension to the Father, coming into the Upper Room, working with the 120 followers, and all followers throughout all of the previous generations, remember what Jesus said prior to the Day of Pentecost in Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. That is to say … from the early ministry of Christ Jesus, up unto this very moment in which we’re now living. Now in Revelation 1:6-8 (the Apostle John is speaking by the indwelling Holy Spirit living within his innermost being … and as well as representation from Jesus Christ. He is again pointing out that Christ Jesus throughout these past generations, and up to and including even now) … hath made us kings and priests unto God … his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with clouds; (Remember … this is not talking about clouds in the sky. We’ve previously learned, the word ‘crowd’ isn’t in the Bible, but back in the 1st Century, the word ‘clouds’ was often used to describe very large and sometimes even smaller groups of people or ‘crowds’); and every eye shall see him (meaning from and throughout all generations; other folds), and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come (the one being and the one that was and the one coming, that is, the Eternal, as a divine epithet of Christ: Strong’s G3801 This has been, and still is an ongoing process), the Almighty.
Christ Jesus has established and is still maintaining His Kingdom in earth, as it is in heaven … WE ARE NOW, living in times of evil, realizing the vail is being lifted, to where we are clearly seeing more and more evil than we’ve ever seen before. Remember, the enemy is blind. THEY CANNOT SEE ONE ANOTHER. Yet, we can discern them, …
(Notice I didn’t say judge them here. Let’s all learn the difference between ‘discerning someone’ verses ‘judging someone’ We can discern our enemies, without judging them. Jesus taught us to pray for our enemies … not judge them. At the very least, even though they may be enemies, we can pray the Lord presents them with an opportunity to make a definite decision of their own free volition to repent from wrong doing, and receive Christ Jesus as their own personal Saviour, making Him Lord over their lives. If they choose otherwise, then they remain enemies of Truth and Righteousness in Christ Jesus.)
… because the Holy Ghost has not only granted us power over ourselves, but He has also opened the eyes of the members of His body, to where WE CAN SEE EACH OTHER.
OK, we know Christ Jesus went
to the cross as a Lamb, but SUDDENLY entered into HIS TEMPLE in the Upper Room. Malachi 3:1
(written
circa 450-420 BCE) … the Lord, whom ye seek, shall SUDDENLY come to HIS TEMPLE, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight
in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. (Now look at) Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,
they were all with one accord in one place. And SUDDENLY there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And
there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each
of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (the
LION has arrived to further establish God’s Kingdom in the earthen vessels.)
1Corinthians 6:19 … know ye not that YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE of the Holy Ghost which is
in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Now,
let’s take note that the LION has been at work for over a couple of a thousand
years. Remember, when Christ Jesus was here in the flesh, during His earthly
life and ministry, He told the Disciples in John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold:
them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one
fold, and one shepherd.
Now, take a look at what the Apostle John states in Revelation 5:5-14 … behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof … Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast MADE US unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth … (These following passages are describing worship throughout the ages up until the present) and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto HIM (God the Father, the Ancient of Days) that sitteth upon the throne (in the Heavenlies), and unto the Lamb (the sacrificial Living Christ Jesus) for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
OK … in summary. What am I trying so desperately to get across to you? It is simply this. Our Lord and King is coming, not as a Lamb, but as a Lion. Where is the Lion. The Lion is in His Temple. Where is the Temple. We are the Temple. He’s been working from the Temple for over a couple of thousand years now. But, we are now approaching a very evil day throughout the entire earth. This evil we all see, is not just local to the area where we live. This is a definite worldwide move of Satan, who is the father of lies. Yes, this is the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy.
Why do you think he’s coming against the Jewish people of Israel, and Christians all around the world. I’ll tell you why. Satan knows he has to destroy God’s people in order to win this battle. But we all know that greater is he that is in us, than him that is in the world. We must quit waiting for the Lord to “take us out of here.” He didn’t want us to grow up to become children in Christ. He wants us to grow up into mature Christians, so we can win this battle between good and evil.
Remember, this … not by power, nor by might but by my Spirit saith the Lord of Host. DO NOT PLAN ON LEAVING the battlefield. Plan on Listening to what the Spirit of God would have you to DO. We are not rewarded in this life for what we know, we are rewarded in this life for what we do. Christians should not be moved by carnal fleshly desires, but as Christians we need to listen to what God would have us to do … then pick up our COURAGE and START. The Lord Himself will come into the battle with us. Let’s all stand up and move against the enemy in every place our Lord would have us move. This is not about childish Christianity. It’s about mature adults in Christ, getting the job done, wherever God leads the way. The battle is here on the earth. As Christians we need to do our part here. God doesn’t need us on the other side of Jordan right now.
He’s made us kings and priest. That means that He can use us in spiritual or carnal earthly endeavors. Remember He has ALL POWER in Heaven and in Earth. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY. He will never leave us, nor forsake us. If we want to stand for HIM like HE has stood for us, then let’s either lead according to His order, or get behind every person who stands up for what is clean, honorable and righteous in the eyes of God Almighty. Greater is He that is in us, than Him that is in the world. God can either use a person, or He can work through a person. Let’s not judge someone as the enemy, if they think a bit different than us, as long as the job is getting done, for Liberty to prevail. This is a battle for our God given Liberty. Let’s keep it!
One last thought. David didn’t just pray and wait for the Lord to take the giant down. David heard from God, picked up his Courage … went out to face the enemy in battle … took the head off of the enemy, and declared victory. In other words, David did his part … by the leading of the Spirit. He didn’t just sit, and wait … thinking God would do everything for him. God can USE anyone, or He like the LION from the Tribe of Judah, can WORK THROUGH the ones who follow him. The LION has been calm for awhile now, but the day will come, when the LION will arise in power, under the anointing of the Most High!
